Day 22: 343 days left…94 books to go!

Exodus 10-12:30  The Last few Plagues
  •  The final plague...the Plague on the Firstborn..."About midnight I will go throughout Egypt.  Every firstborn son in Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn son of the slave girl, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle as well.  There will be loud wailing throught Egypt-worse than there has ever been or ever will be again...Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel."  Chapter 11, Verses 4-7
  • In preparation for this plague, the Israelites prepared for and celebrated their first Passover..."It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians."  Chapter 12, Verse 27
Matthew 18:15-35
  • "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."  Chapter 18, Verse 20
  • On how many times I should forgive someone who wrongs me..."I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."  Verse 22
  • "Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?...This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."  Verses 33 & 35  Forgiveness is not an easy thing to accomplish...we as a society believe that we have so many rights these days, including the right to be treated with respect...if someone disrespects us or wrongs us several times...it's one of the hardest things to even consider forgiving them...but as God as forgiven us for all of our sins, we are called to forgive...from the heart....
